Keep that Olympic spirit alive - with a swim spa swimming tournament!

At the pace life moves today, you may find it hard to believe it’s only been a few weeks since we celebrated the end of another Olympic games. I don’t know about you, but I always enjoy watching the winter games. Some of the sports seem so unique, especially to those of us who live in the southern states. (Bobsled and curling, anyone?) You may find it even harder to believe that the next summer games are only two years away. Athletes around the world - and right here at home - are working hard to earn the chance to represent their countries in Tokyo in 2020.If you have a swim spa, you can go ahead and keep that Pyeongchang Olympic spirit going right into Tokyo, by holding a swim tournament in your backyard! With a swim spa, you can enjoy the warm water no matter the weather. Even if it’s chilly this Spring, you can throw a Swim Spa Olympic's party for your kids and their friends. Just establish a few events - maybe a 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, for starters - grab a stopwatch and a few medals from the local party store, and you’re all set! Let each child take a turn, keep a leaderboard to track their times, and have a medal ceremony at the end. Remember it’s all in good fun, so consider mixing it up, too. Maybe slowest wins gold or person closest to a designated time? It’s your Olympics, so the rules are up to you!Have a few friends who are more experienced swimmers? Structure your Olympics with their skills and talents in mind. Set the water flow the same for everyone to make things competitive. Choose the events - more experienced swimmers can probably swim for greater distances - and choose a timekeeper. Be sure to enjoy your swim spa’s hydrotherapy and some refreshments once the competition is complete! All it takes is a little planning for some healthy fun with your family and friends that will keep that Olympic spirit alive.
